Contender National Championships Day 2, Felpham Sailing Club

with winds of 25 knots gusting  30 and the tidal dump building throughout the day, sailing was postponed from the scheduled 12am start with a view to revisit at 2pm, the scheduled easing of the wind failed to materialise and with the tide half and hour after high it was decided to postpone for the day and come back tomorrow for a 10 am start. Throughout the wait it gave us time to get in the AGM whilst binge catered for by the ever friendly members of the club, ably manning the galley and providing teas, coffees and lunch.

this gave the fleet an opportunity to try anther sport so it was over to the putting green for a quick 18 holes, looing at the final scores, there's a reason why we sail and don't play golf, Anyway, first was Richard Gimmler with 44 points, joint 2nd was David Davies and Martin Frary  on 46 and in 4th a reasonably new addition to the fleet, and with reverse logic, winner of the first prize as Richard had gone home before the prize giving, Ralph on 47. Top ladies prize went to Rhona Davies with a very respectable 48 putting her in 5th place overall.

First hole in one prize went to Colin.

thanks to the sponsors and for Simon Mussell for organising the golf.
